Unable to find modem under FC3 (manufacturer "PCtel")

HI,

I am newbie to linux. I am uing FC3.
I am unable to find my modem under Internet Configuration wizard.
The same problem I faced while using RED HAt LINUX 9.0 and FC2
while booting the modem is detected but during the wizard it is not listed...
Awaiting for the reply.
Thanks.

A pctel is a winmodem. It requires a special driver. Download one here: http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pcte...tel-fc1.tar.gz

It's for FC1 but it works.

Modem not detected in FC3?

My LT/Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem is not detected by FC3.
I have a dual OS system (Redhat Fedora Core 3 kernel 2.6.10 & MS WinXP Home Edition) I was given an rpm by this guy who sold me the computer. It didn't work! Tried downloading driver. That doesn't work! Downloaded ScanModem.gz. That doesn't work, either!

Must I used Broadband to connect Linux to Internet? If so how could I use AOL Broadband on Linux?

Thank you.
Bryan
