Unable to configure sound card in my Acer Travelmate 5760 Laptop

I installed RedHat Enterprise Linux ES 4 server in my Acer Travelmate 5720 model laptop. I installed the Operating System using the all-generic-ide irqpoll command in the boot prompt because my hard disk is SATA.

But now I couldn't able to configure the sound card in my laptop. I have dual boot with Windows XP SP2 installed in my primary partition. In windows the sound is configured properly. the sound codecs is Realtech High definition audio codecs.

Please help me to configure the sound in my laptop.

Is there a specific reason you didn't install RHEL 5.2 or Centos 5.2 ?

Version 5 has been out for over a year, and would have much better hardware support ..
