UM9100 USB modem Installation

I have um9100 usb which is not work in fedora core 2

I also have k7vta3 motherboard

My attemp to install it was no succes. Would anybody help me please?

1. I have read the instruction on the readme, the process from making ("make" command) and ("make install" was succesful) but i'm a litte bit confused with the "modprobe" and "slmodemd" command. it is not respond
(the modprobe just quit to shell without any feedback, and the slmodemd command detect no modem with /dev/slusb0 devices)

2. wondering about the unsuccesful installation i have 2 suspected cause, the usb itself or the port where should be allocated to the modem (the box said that it's bus powered, so even to turn it on need a proper port setting). why the usb port shows up in pci controller not in thr usb controller ? ("lsusb" command respond nothing while "slpci" inform that its handling via's usb controller

3. please anyone tell me what's wrong? both cause is beyond my knowledge to solve, it is just guessing.
