please define "UI broke".

there's too little relevant information (what actually happens, logs or other output to substantiate that) and too much random information.

please use CODE tags for code, and not QUOTE tags.

As ondoho wrote, we need a description of what happened, what you see. Can you give us a look via a screenshot?
Code:
inxi -Gxxb
would give us more concise and useful information about your system, less verbose, but software as well as hardware. The meaning of "UI broke" is most important. Does booting a prior kernel help?

What's wrong with your UI? If your screen, keyboard or mouse are broken (since you post your question under the Hardware category), software configuration won't help.

this is strange.
no gpu driver?
did you run inxi as root (with sudo)?
can you get better information without sudo?

or maybe
Code:
lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|3d|display'

Not that strange. He ran it in "console" (aka vtty). That's a graphics info collection handicap. Inxi depends on several utilities that are separate packages that in Fedora might not be installed if he got inxi from upstream instead of rpm. Fedora by default runs Wayland, which might result in a still bigger handicap. I have KDE on Fedora using Xorg (no Wayland):
Code:
# inxi -V | head -n1
inxi 3.0.26-00 (2018-09-28)
# inxi -S
System: Host: gx62b Kernel: 4.19.2-300.fc29.x86_64 x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.13.5
Distro: Fedora release 29 (Twenty Nine)
## run in vtty (fbcon, no X):
# inxi -Gxx

And yes hasanatizaz please, we still don't know what "UI broke" means. If you could pastebin /var/log/Xorg.0.log or ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log if either exist it would help explain what "UI broke" means.

By UI Broke i mean that i am not able to use graphical display anymore, last time i tried to set vesa under the xorg.conf which i got generated by X -configure otherwise there were no logs. Besides i doubt that that the proper driver is missing, After i lost my graphical display i did tried remove Xorg and tried to re install but no help,

the below log is when i manually tried to load vesa driver under the config file but did not work, I believe if i can load intel drivers successfully it might work, on a similar piece of hardware with a different distro, I see under lsmod(debian) that it has picked i915 driver for graphics but i am not able to load install it here.

If I were you, I would google for the error messages. in particular Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
I would also check /var/log/Xorg.0.log as suggested by one of the EE messages.

We need to see the xorg.conf you are using. You shouldn't need one to use a Broadwell IGD. I would have suggested you may need to (re-)install the kernel and/or linux-firmware, but I see from that 5.0.4 kernel it's already been a while since you updated. So, try a fresh F29 update with new kernel. I just did and got kernel 5.0.7. Another update may be all you need, though that xorg.conf may need to be removed too. Automagic configuration with Intel GFX is almost always just right. An imperfect xorg.conf is capable of doing more harm than good.

Thanks everyone for the valuable suggestions and the input so far,

i did check the messages but did not understood them,

below is the output of my created xorg.conf.new via X --configure and then tried to use it but unable, i see that lsmod did not show intel drivers at all but i did install x11-xorg-intel package.

@mrmazda

Your valuable suggestion, I did upgrade to 5.0.7 and pointers of removing old kernels has sorted out the problem, I did saw though i am running 5.0.4 but headers of 5.05 and 5.0.6 per present in rpm packages, not sure how did they end up there. once i am done with the setup i will mark this ticket as solved. at the moment i am re setting up the graphic environment of my choice.

@all

I still did not get what really was the issue here, why did the UI broke and the logs of Xorg where it states
Code:
729.770] (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
[ 729.770] (EE)
Fatal server error:
[ 729.770] (EE) no screens found(EE)
Just in case if i get to find such errors in future, what steps i should start to look from.

Thank you for this wonderful help.

To find out what actually went wrong you might peruse the journal, but that would probably amount to searching for a needle in a haystack. I can only speculate from your observation of 5.0.5 and 5.0.6 that something went wrong with the prior kernel upgrade or dracut that simply broke KMS, which in turn prevented i915 and/or DDX from working, leaving you stuck with only framebuffer video. Possibly the mirrors during your previous update were transitioning from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5 or 5.0.6 and you somehow got stuck with a mixture of kernel and modules that could not work, something that dnf should not allow, yet did happen.

If something like this happens again, first thing to try is booting previously installed kernel. If you want to know a little more about what happened this time, try removing the 5.0.4 kernel, then rebooting to whichever kernel was installed prior to 5.0.4 and remains now as backup to 5.0.7. If it works, chalk what happened up as a fluke that shouldn't be expected to happen again.

BTW, with your Broadwell, it's possible you would be better off it xorg-x11-drv-intel was not installed. The only way to be sure is to see how things work with it removed. That DDX last had an official upstream release 4 years ago. Since then, Intel has been paying its driver writers to focus their effort on the modesetting DDX built into the server. My Haswell and my two Kaby Lakes are all running on the modesetting DDX, as are all of my older Intel GPUs that it supports.

Thank you for such a detailed response,

I have removed xorg-x11-drv-intel, I like to know that the audio is of Broadwell does xorg-x11-drv-intel contains packages for audio as well ? since its a driver for graphical display only.

I see that i have now lxde, gnome, gnome on xorg, openbox, I am only allowed to login in GNOME, if i try to login in any other of the desktop, it logs me out immediately, i can only login in gnome.

here is the error

Does anything improve if you reinstall xorg-x11-drv-intel?

I never use Wayland, Gnome or GDM, so I can't help with issues that involve these. I suggest to start a new thread that mentions Wayland, Gnome, GDM and/or what you cannot do in the Desktop forum. UI Broken is not likely to attract much attention from those familiar with such issues.
