Angry Ubuntu video problem

Just installed Ubuntu 6.06 and everything is fine except the only video resolution I can get is 640 x 480. I have read several threads but still don't know to fix it. Not to good with command lines.

Your screen resolution won't go above 640x480? If thats the case, what resolutions can your monitor handle? What kind of video card do you have? Do you have the proper drivers installed for your card? Have you looked at your xorg.conf?
