Ubuntu 5.10 & edirol pcr-10

Hello
Can somebody help me with this thing? I got an Edirol PCR-A30 - i'm using it under windows to control music apps - and it's fine, but - music is the only reason to use M$. Unfortunatly - there's no app that can staisfy me :/ (maybe Wired, but the developers are so laaaaazzyyyy )

Also i got an AC97 compatible sound card on my motherboard

so what's the problem? - I just want to use PCR's audio bus as a primary soundcard under my linux (ubuntu breezy stable) - but I can't

When Ubuntu starts there's something like:
Code:
alsa device 0 [ok]
Code:
alsa device 1[ok]
when I try to switch the sound cards under gnome - I can see both cards, and I select PCR-A as a primary device, but I can't use it :\

I've searched the net but there's no info 'bout my pcr and linux working together :/
