ubuntu 11.10 + audigy 2

Guys please help because i cant find solution for my problem for a long time!

I have onboard realtek that works fine, but i dont want to use that card from some other reasons. I disabled it in BIOS and i have no sound anymore.
I have audigy 2 card but it's not listed in sound preferences for input. There is just nvidia HDMI sound that i cant use.
When i go with aplay -l i get bunch of these:

card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 7: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1

no trace of audigy...

but with lspci -v
06:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 03)
Subsystem: Creative Labs SB0090 Audigy Player/OEM
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 19
I/O ports at dfc0 [size=32]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel modules: snd-emu10k1

so that gives me idea that ubuntu can find my card.. but from some reason it wont use it...

Usualy people fix mute channels in Alsamixer but in my mixer i dont have nothing.. just cant see my card..
i'm going through forums for a long time and tried almost anything but no luck...

what can i do?? any ideas?

Well the driver for the audigy is certainly loaded. What is the full output of 'aplay -l' ?

Unfortunately, I'm at a loss. I have a SB Live! which also uses the snd-emu10k1 driver. I just booted off a flash drive with Ubuntu 11.10 installed, and the soundcard shows up in 'aplay -l' and works just fine.

Perhaps there's a problem with the hardware? Or maybe this is a problem specific to your chipset and that version of the alsa-drivers. Could you perhaps try a live cd of another distribution? Does 'dmesg' show any errors from alsa?

solved...

Long after i gave up on fixing audigy problem... I solved it by accident.
I got myself SSD and time to reinstall my system. I planed to install 12.04 and from some reason audigy stared to work out of the box! Than i tried to reinstall again from some reason, and again.. nothing! No audigy! Few hours later i found that if i enable "Quick boot" option in bios, ubuntu and every other distro recognize and install my soundCard. If i disable this in bios.. same story as before... Nothing!
So, im not sure why is this, there is no any reason to behave like that. But just if someone else have the same problem.. check the "quick boot" option.

Does anyone have some idea why is this? What quickboot have with my audigy? And driver install?
