Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 : Suspend doesn't work properly

Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 : Suspend doesn't work properly
I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 amd 64 on HP Pavilion dv5-1299ee. but Suspend functionality doesn't work well.
First I tried to hibernate and with some error messages it worked.
But when I tried to suspend the computer, screen turned off and on two or more times and suddenly login screen appeared. I used Log files to locate where the problem is. I found Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT can't be suspended. so I installed the driver, tried so many things and this line of error took its place to another of AHCI controller. I handled it with using modprobe ahci. and it seems that it worked.
My log shows that there is no problem with suspending devices. but the computer wakes up immediately after suspend.

I really appreciate any help.

this is the log file ( pm-suspend.log ):

Initial commandline parameters:

I have a HP, and I took months getting things sorted.

Some kernels don't hack it and just cause major issues. Also acpi has events, linked to scripts. But every smartalec window manager duplicates this functionality. I went through a stage where every suspend resulted in 2 suspends. It would wake up, and suspend again :-((. This is because xfce had added a power manager.

If you have an amd 64 it is probably amd chipset also. I grabbed the config from a Fedora kernel, and started hacking. That worked well. I also found Debian and Fedora had the best collection of scripts for the suspend/hibernate stuff, but I finished writing my own. I gave up on suspend, and settled for hibernate.

If you start acpid with -l, it logs acpi events to syslog and that lets you get started. acpid checks for a matching event in /etc/acpi/events (e.g. lidbtn) which points at a script in /etc/acpi.
