Twinhan DVB-S and udev problem

Hi all,
I have a problem and I hope someone can help me here. I'm trying to run my Twinhan 1025 DVB-S card on Slackware 11. There seems to be no problem, the drives load without errors but nothing is created in /dev. Therefore I have no way of accessing my card...

The card is identified as:
Quote:

05:02.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11)
Subsystem: Twinhan Technology Co. Ltd VisionPlus DVB card
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 19
Memory at f6ffe000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

05:02.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11)
Subsystem: Twinhan Technology Co. Ltd VisionPlus DVB Card

Memory at f6fff000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2
And after performing modprobe bt878, the dmesg shows:
Quote:

dvb_core is in the kernel, by the way...

So, although there's no error reported, the card still does not work. Two things make me wonder:

1) The system does not recognize the card upon boot-up - I have to invoke modprobe manually. Is this correct?

2) http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Twinhan says that all Twinhans are based on LG tuner. But my card is recognizes as Bt878 and this is the driver I'm loading. Am I doing a correct thing?

So, can you please give me some ideas what could be wrong in my system? I even downloaded the latest udev from Slackware-current but it changed nothing... dvb0 still does not appear in /dev and I'm running out of ideas here...
