TVTIME playing video but no sound (Hauppauge hvr-1800)

Ok so i just setup my haupaugge hvr-1800 and i am getting no sound out of tvtime and when i try to connect with totem i get Totem is missing a channel list. Really the only thing i care about is getting sound to work in tvtime as i do not need any features that tvtime does not have. Any ideas?
So here is the info i do know
Code:

The program tvtime only supports video capture cards that output as is or data that is not encoded in the stream. If the card does not output video and sound as is, you have to use MPlayer, Xine-lib, or VLC.

The following should help setting up the card.

http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.ph...WinTV-HVR-1800

Since it is basically a DVB card, you will also need DVB utilities. I suggest skip tvtime step in the above link and use MPlayer's DVB or TV device feature to use the card.

I do not have the card nor do I have a DVB card, so I can not help you any further.

IMHO, totem is alright but MPlayer is a lot better. MPlayer is significantly more reliable and stable.

If your video card is one of the VDPAU supported cards, hardware decoding for MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 can be done with out consuming too much processing power by the main processor.

I have an older Hauppauge card. To get TVTime sound, I have to plug a stereo cable between the card's audio output and the aux input to my system's sound card.
