tvout stops working when kernel is loaded
 

Hi!

I started my computer with a ati all-in-wonder radeon 7500 and with a S-video contact inserted.
When I got to the grub-menu I got a picture on the TV (not the best quality, but still...).
(I don't know why but if I start the computer with the S-video contact inserted, my grub-menu gets shorter, less height...)

Anyways, when I chose my OS (Arch Linux) the kernel loaded and then shit happened: The picture was getting very f'ed. Lines were going down the screen, and I couldn't see any text cause it was so "fussy" (probably not the right word to use since my tv's picture was worse than fussy).

But the tv-out was still there because I could see the picture changing when the screen was being cleared (Arch clears the screen for the login prompt) and I could also see the picture changing on the tv when I started X.

I tried messing around a little with atitvout and it told me that I had a TV but I couldn't do anything. But the problem isn't with atitvout, because I had tv-out before I ran the program.

Does anybody know how I can fix this, one way or the other. I just want my tvout to work =)

Personally, I thing it's strange to get tvout to work before the kernel is loaded.
