TV output at 1280x800 resolution (with Ati Radeon 9700)
 

Hello!
When I connect my notebook to a TV (with a VGA cable), the computer screen (1280x800, widescreen) is output at 1024x768 resolution: in fact, there is part of the desktop which is "outside" the TV screen, I have to move the mouse in order to show it. If I change the desktop resolution to 1024x768, then all the computer screen is shown on the TV, but that the are black zones at the TV screen's sides, that is, unused space.
My girlfriend's notebook (with Windows), instead, is able to completely fill the screen, at 1280x1024 (I think).

Could anybody tell me what I have to configure (xorg.conf?) in order to output video to my TV at maximum resolution, i.e. 1280x800 (or x1024)?
