TV card support

I would like to know what TV cards are good with linux support. I have a wnfast pro which though sometimes is detected(usually detected as scanner) i can never get working.

So I am gonna fork out for a new card. The first amin use will be to convert old vhs video to dvd. Any ideas on what I should get?

How about a slightly different question?

Do you know of any cheap (>$20) video input cards that work under Linux? I'm only going to be using it to connect game consoles to my computer, so I don't even need a tv tuner, just a composite input.
