TV Card Audio

Okay, now i have a new problem...

Using MDK 10 Official

If i plug my speakers directly to the TV Cards audio out I get sound. If i loop the Tv card audio out into my SB!Live 5.1 Line in i get no sound. The SB!Live does work though I'm listening to mp3s as we speak....any ideas?

I have the even checked to make sure that the audio line in on the sb works, i opened up xawtv loaded up audacity and recorded the sound from the tv card, but I get no sound from xawtv otherwise any ideas?

Run alsamixer and adjust line-in level while xawtv, tvtime, or mplayer is running. Also make sure its un-muted. IMO, tvtime has better video quality of the other two.

It sounds like you are using digital speakers. If you are, you have to use sox or what you used last time "aplay /dev/dsp". If you are using analog speakers and you make sure the line-out from the TV capture card is connected to the line-in of the sound card and you adjusted the mixer, all I can say its user side.

Try hooking up a portable cd player to the line-in jack.

It may help if you tell us what brand and model is your TV capture card. Also post what amixer displays. Use the code command in this forum to keep the format of amixer.

BTW, in my system, I tried three different sound cards. They all work the same way when working with the line-in jack.

they are analog speakers the tv card is looped to the sound card both the output from the tv card and input from the soundcard work they just arent worknig together. All the line inputs are unmuted, 100% volume and set to capture, still no sound. Soundcard is sb!live 5.1 tv card is using bttv drivers

Is it fixed yet?

Did you ever get this problem straightened out? I have the same problem with mandrake 10 official and a Hauppauge Wintv card. If you got it fixed, I would love to know what you did.

Thanks,

Do you have some modules loaded like i2c-algo-bit, i2c-core, soundcore, tvaudio, tuner.
