Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Roadie

i cant seem to find any linux drivers for this card anywhere. i know i should look for an easy compatable card before i buy something but i bought the card before i started to get into linux. does anyone know of any third party drivers or anything that would get this card installed? Im using FC5 with the latest kernel.

wont let me post a link to a different site showing the exact card but just google the topic and its the fist link to the sound card page.

also kind of a newb question. most of the time when it comes to hardware drivers with linux. you we usually have to rely on built-in drivers in the kernel or what? i believe the one thing holding linux back is the lack of drivers.

thanks for any help.

Check out this message from the alsa-user mailing list:

And to reply to your comment about linux drivers, I think what's holding linux back is the lack of hardware vendor support, not specifically drivers.

im sorry but doesnt that mean the same thing? by having linux drivers would also mean better hardware vender support?

thanks for the link btw

Hardware vendor support is generally required to get good drivers - it's like blaming the pollution in the air for your respiratory problems instead of the polluter. Ideally the polluter would stop polluting, rather than cleaning up the pollution.
