Well that would depend on the BIOS though. Just browse thru the different options and you should find it there. By default I believe, they should already be on or enabled.

Oh man, there can be different BIOS settings for different computers, motherboards.. unless you can tell us what BIOS, Motherboard or computer he has, someone here might know specifically.
is there just a general setting for turning on com ports, i know how to turn serial ports on.....i dunno if this will help but its a packard bell...about 2 years old??
Actually come to think of it, com ports are usually installed by the OS and controlled by the OS.. not the BIOS if I'm not mistaken.. only the serial and parallel I think can be turned on or off by the BIOS. I just went thru one of my pc's and nothing about com ports.
