tunelp question

Tunelp???

Does anyone know what the meaning of the values that check the status of the printer such as "status is 120"? I have been receiving a few different values, such as 80, 122, and as show 120. I am very curious. I have yet to find a good resource for the tunelp command other than the manual page.

/usr/sbin/tunelp -s /dev/lp0
/dev/lp0 status is 120

I took a look at the source for the tunelp and it appears the status value takes the return value of the ioctl() function from the sys/ioctl.h, but I have no idea how the ioctl() function gets the value it returns.
