Trying to Multi-Boot into 2HDD
I finished building my computer and on the new HDD set as Master I installed LOS 4.5 ( The only HDD in the computer at this time.) Well the Wife and 2d daughter rebelled and said they wanted Windows back!! To try and keep it simple I purchased a second HDD Maxtor 40Gb and installed it as the Master and made the previous Lindows HDD the slave (Both attached to IDE1). I installed Win Xp Home edition on the new HDD and the computer is running fine. So there is peace in the land again!
Now I want to get going with Lindows 4.5 OS, so I can start learning more about Linux. I restart the computer choose from the boot menu and choose IDE1 2d HDD. The Lindows boot screen appears and when I press enter nothing happens. So I restart and choose Diagnostic and the last five lines are: ide0: BM-DMA at 0xff00-0xff07, Bios settings: hda:DMA, hdb:DMA ide1: BM-DMA at 0xff08-0xff0f, Bios settings: hdc:DMA, hdd:DMA VFS: Cannot Open root device "303" or 03:03 Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel Panic: Unable to mount root on 03:03 Ok, some of this I understand, but at this juncture I'm unable to get into the 2HDD to open the kernel to append anything. How do I configure Win XP so I can click something to open the second hdd to boot into. I think I may have to re-install LOS 4.5 but I need get in there. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
