Trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.5, system running in low-graphics mode
Hello,
The install process starts well but then when the screen comes up (the one after the splash screen) i get the system is running in low-graphics mode. When I select just for the this session, it hangs.
This is bizarre because i already had installed 12.04 previously. (Please don't ask).
I know my old computer probably can't handle unity so i use 2d gnome which i know is still supported in 12.04.
Not sure if it helps but are you installing from USB Flash?
I had a similar issue where strangely it would work and install OK if I booted from a ISO burned CD, but did not like the USB flash device at all. I have no explanation for why this occurred other than it maybe didn't like my UFD. I have also seen similar issues with USB keys larger than 4GB.
Apologies if this does not solve your question. I doubt it will, but thought I would throw it out there just in case.
