Trust 56k V92 Pci Modem Suse 9.3

I'm new to Linux OS. I recently installed SUSE LINUX 9.3.
Installation recognized all devices except the modem.
I have a TRUST 56K V92 PCI MODEM with Intel chipset.
Someone can help me in getting a driver for this device, if exists?
In case there isn't a driver available, how can I make my device to work?

This is most likely a "winmodem" means a modem where they "replaced" some chips with extra functions in driver. If you can't find a driver, this won't work on linux...

Have you searched google about your modem?

trust modem

I have exactly the same modem ... same problem but under Slackware 10.1.

A friend suggested me to visit: http://www.linmodems.org/

I downloded the scanModem file, ran it and posted the output to discuss@linmodems.org
I'm waiting for the reply.
I'll tell you the answer...

It's a nuisance !!!

At the moment, I've not found any device driver....

Hi.

driver found

Dear Massimo,

linmodem staff helped me in finding the correct driver for our Trust v92 Modem:
try this driver:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...inux*&lang=eng

dwonloaded here( our chipset should be Intel 536EP):

http://developer.intel.com/design/mo...rt/drivers.htm

I still have some problems with the installation. The readme files probably is not enough... I cannot easily manage this dirver on Slackware. Nevertheless a step forward has been made.

I hope you'll be more lucky, SUSE is among the supported distributions. Tell me if you succeed in recognizing the hardware.

If you are Italian too, we can keep in contact through private mail ... no translation needed.
I'm altronome80@yahoo.com

Greetings,
giacomo (james-c)
