Trust 235a adsl usb modem

I have a Trust 235a adsl usb modem

this modem is based on the Conexant CX82320 chipset. (yes i know about the conexant access runner on sourceforge but im new to the linux OS so havent a clue as to how i would compile the access runner.)

Now i know that trust do not supply linux capable drivers, so would it be better if i bought a netgear or similar adsl router that would be more PnP with linux?
