Troubleshooting: Diagnosis (PLEASE HELP!)

Hey People!

I recently went home for the Christmas break. I took my computer home, and ever since then the computer hasn't been the same.

Here are the components:

Soyo 5EHM Motherboard
AMD K6-3 @ 500MHz
Generic RAM
3dfx Voodoo3
Creative Labs AWE64
Compaq CV735 Monitor
3com 3c509
NE2000 Compatible NIC

I'm running RedHat 7.1.

Here is what goes wrong:

1) sometimes when I start my computer, my monitor
doesn't "turn on." (I need to restart my computer
until the video card decides to work, I guess.)
2) The computer will sponteneously crash/reboot

I'm thinking that there is a problem with either the video card, or the power supply. How can I find out which went bad? I'm a college student w/o much money to spare.

I've checked the hard drives for bad blocks, but none were found.
I have also run memtest86, to find no errors with the ram.

What else can I do to troubleshoot the computer?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply's AUSSIE and JUBY!!

Aussie: The monitor isn't the problem. I'm going to try replacing the video card today.

Juby: I haven't added any new devices to the machine or changed any BIOS settings (I loaded the setup defaults earlier just to make sure nothing was screwy). I'll try checking the contacts on the motherboard to the devices (that's a good idea).

I'll post a reply with the results.
