Troubleshoot hardware issues with Debian commands

Hello all

I would like to know what are essential troubleshooting commands to run on Debian to determine hardware issues involving the motherboard such the networking issues with a NIC/ADSL card, system fan trouble, memory card not installed correctly etc.

Thanks in advance

Kind of a open ended question there! Experience and use of the Gnu/Linux will allow you to trouble shoot problems with a specific subsystem. You could use a tutorial (suggest Rute) to exercise or step through potential problems. Another way would be to use LQ Search to find member problems along with methods to solutions. So to arbitrarily answer your question(s), no short specific answers except to work with each subsystem individually therefore understanding each so when you do have a problem arise you will be prepared.

Just a few links to aid you to gaining some understanding. Sure some may seem beyond your current level of experience but you must start somewhere;

Rute Tutorial & Exposition
Linux Command Guide
Utimate Linux Newbie Guide
LinuxSelfHelp
Bash Beginners Guide
Bash Reference Manual
Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide
Linux Home Networking
