Trouble with USB pen drive in Linux

I have Redhat 8 as my operating system and each time I plug in my pen drive (Jetflash), the computer simply hangs. Any suggestions of how I can get abt my problem.

The first thing I would try is upgrading your kernel. Are you running the last kernel released for Red Hat 8?

The next solution is a bit of a copout, but I think you'll be happier in the long run. Create backups of the necessary data from the machine, and reformat and reinstall with Fedora Core 4. The hardware support is much better, as a result of its being more current if nothing else.
