trouble with ATI TV-wonder sound.

i am using a self compiled 2.4.21 kernel,
w/ an ATI TV card.

# lsmod
Module Size Used by Tainted: P
nvidia 1629088 18 (autoclean)
cmpci 27988 0
8139too 16424 1
mii 2560 0 [8139too]
tuner 10984 1 (autoclean)
bttv 78304 0
i2c-algo-bit 7592 1 [bttv]
videodev 6336 2 [bttv]
soundcore 4292 2 [cmpci bttv]
i2c-core 13924 0 [tuner bttv i2c-algo-bit]
joydev 6272 0
hid 14120 0 (unused)
usb-uhci 24656 0 (unused)
usbcore 42212 0 [hid usb-uhci]
ide-scsi 10512 0

i have the audio out on the TV card going to Line IN on my sound card(cmpci). Everything works but the audio signal from the TV card has static on it even when I mix the Line in on my soundcard to 0. I've had this same setup working before on the same machine with Slack9's 2.4.20. Not sure how to proceed.

thanks alot.

so just to clarify. I've discovered that the problem is that
I can't mix the TV audio all the way out, there is no static where there souldn't be. So this could be the soundcard.
i'm using aumix to control /dev/mixer if that matters at all.
thanks again
