Hey guys. I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but maybe someone can point me to the right direction.


I just installed my LITE-ON 811S DVD RW and booted up SuSE 9.1 Personal.

Everything works great, I can read from it and everything, but certian programs don't work with it. Like, for some reason with all my correct plugins, Xine doesn't want to read it. it gives me an error about how nothing was in the drive (when there was) and how I need the correct DVD plugins (which I have). Xine works great with my external DVD player. SuSE mounts my new burner to ( /media/dvdrecorder ) so I changed the settings in Xine to fix that, but still nothing. I change back the settings to my external player's mount point and it starts to work.



So I kind of ignored that and went to copy a DVD. K3b does not see my Lite-on drive. Why? SuSE picked it right up when I booted it up. But K3b didn't and Xine is acting funny around it. I went to configure K3b but it won't even find my external one to read from it.


Please let me know if left out information....



oh yeah... I can't play a audio cd either. It acts like its not even there even after telling it to look at /media/dvdrecorder

Ok, nevermind. This turned into a software problem now. I'm still having problems with K3b. Oh well, I'll go rewrite my question in the software forum...
