Trouble installing a printer (Cannon Maxify 2750)
As stated in the title, I'm having trouble installing the machine.
I've downloaded the drivers from the manufacturer website. After realizing these were actually source packages, trying to build I get an unsatisfied dependency (libcupsys2-dev), which seems to be unavailable on the Debian repositories.
What can I do to solve this issue?

Can you provide the link you used to download the drivers? I could only find a link to the Maxify 2720 and it was Mac only. Now that I think about it - I did the check from a Mac so maybe it identifies your OS - please provide the link anyways so I can see what they provide in terms of drivers.

The site I found was
https://www.canon.co.uk/support/cons...nux%20(64-bit)
After the link to download the source, it also offers both rpm and deb packages. Forget the source and download the Debian package.

I got the tarball from Canon Portugal and, when I first got it, only the source archive was available. The site didn't identified the system used to reach it and I had to manually select Linux64 from a drop down list. I did managed to find the .deb packages on Cannon Europe after a strike of luck. Strangely enough, as I write this, the other packages are now available from the support page on my country website. I'll strike it as me not paying attention.
Both packages installed (printer and scanner) and the printer now shows up and works under CUPS but the scanner is still not working, as SANE can't detect it. Can someone lend me a hand on this part?

Where does your distro keep its sane backends? It used to be /usr/lib/sane but a lot of modern multilib distros use something like /usr/lib/linux-gnu-x86_64/sane (not sure of the exact format). You might need to create a link to the backend from the appropriate directory.
You will also need to have a configuration file for the backend in /etc/sane.d and its name must be included in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf. The installation script should have done all that for you but it's still worth checking.
The man page for SANE contains a lot of useful stuff on troubleshooting. There are special variables that you can set to get a more verbose output.

Driver...
Did you not download and install the ScanGear MP ver. 3.40 driver for the scanner function of your MB2750?
This has its own command set. There is an Operation Guide you can download under the Manuals heading where you downloaded the driver.
However, if you want to use Sane, scanning function for the MB2750 series is listed as completely supported. Luck.
