Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Triple buffering question

Hi. Does anybody know why triple buffering is problematic under linux? I. e. some programs (ZSNES, nintencer) support this feature on windows but don't do so on linux. OTOH at least America's Army does work with triple buffering. So where the problem lies? X.org, SDL, Allegro, OpenGL? Thanks for the info in advance.

I've never even heard of triple buffering, only double buffering.
