TravelMate 800LCi suspend to ram

I'm trying to install acpi to my laptop (kernel 2.6.3) and I have trouble:
suspend to disk work fine, but when I suspend to ram it goes well in sleep state but don't come back to life: my hard drive makes noise, as my cdrom but the screen stay black, as if it is turned off.

I read in the kernel documentation that it's because my lcd screen is setup by the bios and I need a ugly hack to make it works :-(

someone has an idea about making the suspend to ram working or about a hack which can make it works ?

thanks

NB
