Trackpoint on Thinkpad SL410

Since I moved from Ubuntu Karmic to Lucid AMD64, I can't make the speed and the sensibility of the trackpoint to stay permanent. Every time I move from one windows to another or to the desktop, the settings are reseted.
With the SL410, there isn't no way to set these parameters from the Bios. I already found how to enable the scrolling of the trackpoint and how to desable the touchpad by soft.
I found how to set the speed and the sensibility, but as I said, these parameters doesn't stay permanently.
Has somebody an answer to this problem? Thanks.

Don't know much about Ubuntu but to deal with similar problem in Slackware I run the synclient command. Once I get the settings right I put relevant synclient line(s) into a bash profile file that will be run at the beginning of any session.

Trackpad & Thinkpad SL 410

Thank you for your answer, Bogzag. I think "synclient" is for the Touchpad and not for the Trackpad. Anyway, my knowledge in Linux is to low that I could do what you preconize. Can you give me an example that I will learn?
Thanks a lot.
