TP-LINK AC600 USB wireless and Ubuntu 16.04

I have a TP-LINK AC600 USB wireless device that worked perfectly fine on Ubuntu 14.04 after following the directions for building the kernel module here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/72656...-14-04-lts-x64

After building this same module on Ubuntu 16.04 the device appears in my network manager, but it is listed as "device not managed". I have edited the file /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf to be the contents:

Code:
[main]plugins=ifupdown,keyfile,ofono
dns=dnsmasq

[ifupdown]
managed=true
But it did not have any effect. Any suggestions for how to get this wireless card working under 16.04?

See if those work maybe?

What am I supposed to be black listing exactly? That first thread links back to the one I listed which doesn't work.

I'm not sure if I'll have an answer for you but could you also open a terminal and post the results of...

Code:
lsusb
Thanks!

Is /etc/network/interfaces showing adapter?

Can you use ip command to bring it up?

I can't find those pages I saw.

Usually an interface will be managed by nm only if it isn't listed in /etc/network/interfaces.
