Question Tilt wheel compatibility with Kubuntu Dapper?

I have a Logitech cordless mouse with a tilt wheel. Almost identical to this one:

http://http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/GB/EN,CRID=2135,CONTENTID=9086

The scroll wheel scrolls, pressing it works, but the tilt action doesn't scroll pages horizontally as it should. Has anyone else got this functionality working?

Additionally i have a Logitech keyboard to match, which features a dozen or so buttons at the top, none of which work unfortunately.

I'm using Kubuntu Dapper, fully up to date.

This thread is informative but a bit deep, and it's a guide to USB mice, whereas mine is PS/2:

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=8349624

The relevant section in my xorg.conf reads:

Code:
Section "InputDevice"
  Identifier "Configured Mouse"
  Driver "mouse"
  option "CorePointer"
  option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
  option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
  option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
  option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
EndSection
And when i run cat /proc/bus/input/devices it says:

Code:
I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0002 Product=0006 Version=0042
N: Name="ImExPS/2 Logitech MX Mouse"
P: Phys=isa0060/serio1/input0
S: Sysfs=/class/input/input2
H: Handlers=mouse0 event2 ts0
B: EV=7
B: KEY=ff0000 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
B: REL=143
I think one of the things i'll need to do maybe is add a 'Buttons' option. My mouse has the 2 usual left and right click button, 2 on the side for thumb control (useful for Back and Forward in Firefox in Windows), and the scrollwheel is 5 (counting up, down, left, right and pressed) so that's 9 altogether.

I could really use some help deciphering some of the options i should and should not be adding, so that i don't screw X up.

That link seems broken:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
Have you searched LQ? Do any of the results from "9 button mouse" (w/ the quotes) seem relevant?
