Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

TI USB link(silver)

Does anybody know how to use the TI USB link(silver) with a Linux box? I know that I included the drivers for it when I compiled my kernel, but how do I use the two together? Do I have to mount the calculator? Or do I have to download Tilp? If I donwload Tilp, do I have to install their drivers? Or can I use the one that comes with 2.6.0 kernel?
