Thumbdrive


i just wanna know if redhat supports usb thumbdrives or not??
any special config needed??

is that lil' usb storage device the size of a highlighter pen..
one vendor i know of is apacer. try www.apacer.com

I'm guessing that it's one of those USB flash memory things. I believe those are supported by the usb-storage driver. Stick it in, and then run modprobe usb-storage as root.

Memorex thumbdrive is supported in linux kernel 2.4.x , I got mine up and running easy and I'm a compleate newbie http://www.memorexthumbdrive.com/

Worked for me with Fedora Core 1 right out outta the box, no modprobin' or nuttin'. Just had to create the mount point, chmod it and mount sda1. Here's a screenshot of it connected and working: http://members.aol.com/sellingcoins/reddesk.png
