ThinkCentre clock and system stops

On IBM ThinkCentre (8084-7UG) - Not an IBM tested Linux machine.
After a while clock and system slow down and gradually stop. You can watch seconds tick on clock which then starts missing ticks.
Any ideas gratefully received

Is there anything in "dmesg" ? If you get error like "loosing too many ticks" or similiar, there is few kernel options that you can turn on.

In dmesg there is:

PM: Checking swsusp image
swsusp: Suspend partition has wrong signature?
PM: Resume from disk failed.

Have saved session to a text file.

dmesg should give you some hundred lines of text, not just 3 lines... these lines are about software suspend, it doesn't help much, unless the problem only happen when you use suspend
