the good ol' fedora and sound card not working problem
I am pretty new to linux, and i have a Creative Labs SB Audigy LS sitting in my computer. I have been using ALSA, but I get frequent problems like the the "the sound card is being used with a different application" stuff like that, and my sound isn't working with any flash (but that could be a completely seperate problem I don't know). Anyone have any pointers?

You are looking for something on dmix in ~./asoundrc file. Here is one I found here. There are many more so you might want to search for others and see. Most should look like this one.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...light=asoundrc Hope this helps. Brian1 |
i'm alittle confused haha, i can't find anything about asoundrc or dmix.

If you look at the above post link and look at post #4, it shows the contents of a file called .asoundrc that would be in your home directory. The lines of code is used to allow more than one sound at a time to /dev/dsp. More than likely it does not exist so create a new text file and cut and paste the lines from post #4 to it and save. Restart X server.
Hope this helps out there ericb. If still confused don't go crazy, were here to help. Brian1 |
