The best video capture card?

Hello, I'm rather new here, but this place does look quite big. I was wondering what you guys think is the best type of video is. I've heard things such as Hauppage WinTV Card being very good for it's price. Then what second thing i need to know is, if the card is compatible with Debian Sarge.
Any help or suggestions on what I should get let me know.

Thank you!

Compro VideoMate TV Gold Plus (M500) is based on Philips SAA7133/SAA7134 chip. This PCI card is a suggestion, but I recommend any card that is based on Philips SAA713x chip because they capture high quality video. The kernel version have to be at least 2.6.10 in order to get SAA7134 chips working. Right now you should at least upgrade the kernel to 2.6.13. Another card that I suggest is Kworld ATSC-110.

Depends what you want to do with it. Live TV watching or Recording? If you looking at recording to the hard disk, id invest in a card with hardware encoding. Have a look at the Hauppage PVR-xxx line up. The PVR-350 can be used as both an input and output device, fantastic for an all in one MythTV setup.
