Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Terminals (the real ones)

Heya,
When I got into Linux, the terminal times were over, I had a nice 21" CRT which can do 1600x1200 and more. When I learnt more about Linux I got interested in those serial terminals you can put on your box. After a bit googling I saw very cool things, for example those with an 2-line LCD display and keypad. Then those which look like classic computers. Well, I wanted to have such for two reasons: 1) Accessing nodes of my little pc collection without expensive CRTs or using SSH for remote control. 2) being cool and impress girls (wanna see my term? its 80 chars long ..).

Ok so far, but I don't know where to get those? I tried to search Ebay Germany, which had only big monitor like terms for prices I can buy high quality 17" CRTs for. On Ebay.com it looked better but price and especially shipping were still too high for a just for fun thing.

So, do you guys know a source to get this kind of hardware cheap? Or is it impossible and I should use CRTs?

Thanks in advance,
Basti

It's hard to offer advice about hardware if you don't actually specify the manufacturer or model of the equipment you seek. Assuming tht you have that data though, I would recommend checking out pricewatch I have no idea about their overseas capability, but they are a great resource for finding a specific piece of equipment at a low price. -- J.W.
