Teach Linux to recognize keyboard key

Ok, I am not setting up a multimedia keyboard... but instead I have a simple belkin keyboard with two extra keys... a sleep and a wake button. When at the console and I press the sleep key the console comes back with 'unknown scancode: e0 5f'...

how to I add support for this key such that I can put my machine to sleep?

thanks in advance,
jpbarto

The program ACME seems to be what you're looking for.
