Targus Port Replicator with SuSE 9.0

hi all - i've recently rearranged the l/r so it'd be more computer-friendly. right now my laptop is on my desk, and the desktop on a table. i've bought an external fan for the laptop to sit on top of. I hooked up my Targus Port replicator to the laptop so i could use an wireless keyboard/mouse setup. last night when i first jacked the usb plug from the port replicator to my laptop, SuSE 9.0 gave me some pop-up setups. i decided to hold it off because i had to go to sleep, and now i'm trying to use the keyboard/mouse - the laptop's not recognizing it. i can't seem to get the setup popups back even though i unplugged and replugged the usb plug. anybody know what to do with this? i've never used a port replicator before.

edit - i had the mouse and keyboard working the moment i first plugged the port replicator in, and when i woke up, it wasn't working.
