System get stuck on boot when disk is in CD\DVD-drive
If there is a disk (no matter, CD or DVD, with many files or with one file on it, etc.) in CD\DVD-drive when Linux is booting, system get stuck. Delay in booting continues approximately 15 seconds. In the course of delay LED on CD-drive becomes on for a short while. When a drive is empty system boots without this delay. Here is some information about my hardware:
It is fuse module related. Disable it or investigate further.
I can't reject fuse because I use it for mounting NTFS volumes. I also need it for mounting SSHFS in further.
On another machine with Slackware 12.2 I also use fuse but I haven't this problem there.
The cause is found. For some reason my optical drive can't work in DMA mode. It doesn't support DMA in Linux as well as in Windows. I don't know why. Linux try to work with DVD drive by DMA when booting and get stuck. Solution: switch off DMA for DVD drive at system boot.
