System does not recognise USB Bluetooth dongle
Hi all,
I've done a search, but although finding plenty about issues with these dongles, nothing appears to be the same issue as I have. On plugging in the dongle (bluetooth v1.2, have confirmed works fine on windoze), and checking demsg: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 11 usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 12 usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71 usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 13 usb 1-1: device not accepting address 13, error -71 usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 14 usb 1-1: device not accepting address 14, error -71 have tried in a different usb port, same result... system info: [root@nugget ~]# uname -a Linux nugget.fedoracore4 2.6.15-1.1830_FC4 #1 Thu Feb 2 17:23:41 EST 2006 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux I've got the bluetooth utils installed but can't get as far as that when the usb device isn't even recognised ! Can anyone help me? |
That's not a Bluetooth issue, thats a USB issue. Uh oh spaghettio! Try plugging the device into each port (try all of them) and watch the dmesg output. Does it show up in 'lsusb' after you plug it in? I wouldn't have thought it did.
