Syncing Linux and sony PSP write..

When I hook up my Sony PSP and try to cop over a video or file..It delays the write..Ill drag and drop and it will take atleast a good 20 seconds or so before Linux starts writing to the PSP..Only way I know its writing to the PSP memory stick is the light flashing on the PSP..When it stops flashing I wait a bit before going out if USB mode so i dont end up with a corrupt file..How do I get it to write to the PSP and not wait..On large files..Progress window pops up but it is inaccurate..It transfers file in a few seconds..and then shows its complete and then closes..But Linux hasnt even started to write the PSP..Im on Debian Squeeze.

You can run the "sync" command to synchronize the cached data, linux is using write caching to speed up the writing process but somehow seems to be waiting too long to sync.
