synaptics touchpad
does anyone know howto get the synaptics touchpad working in redhat 8.0 on a dell laptop (4150)

i have dell inspiron 2650 and the touch pad works fine under redhat 8.0 with out configuring but if you have another mouse connected touch ped will not work

yes i got the touchpad working by going into the gui configuration for the mouse and changing it to a ps/2 mouse, that got the touchpad working, but my external mouse quite working.

Aren't most laptops set up to deactivate the built in mouse when you plug an external one in?

no you have to disable it manually in dell and desknotes i do not know about others
