SVIDEO -> Composite messed up in X, fine in Windows?
I'm trying to plug into a craptastic TV that has only composite in (no SVIDEO)
Under Windows this works fine, though it is ugly (duh?). Under X (using ATI's fglrx 3.9.0 drivers) the picture shows up, is far more legible than in windows, but shows up in black and white with strange crosshatching. How do I get this to work right... full color? I know there is a fix for this for nVidia cards using nvtv, but I'm unaware of a similar utility for ATI cards. Hardware: IBM T41p (2373GEU) Pentium-M 1.7GHz 1024MiB PC2700 ATI FireGL T2 128MiB Standard SVIDEO out to RadioShack composite<->SVIDEO adapter Software: Arch Linux Xorg fglrx 3.9.0 KDE 3.2.3 Does anybody have any insights into this? |
Ok.
I had the same problem. I think it's a composite/S-video problem. I fixed it after a couple of headache. That's what i did: 1. Configured fglrx driver for Dual Head in XF86-config 2. Installed the atitvout package. 3. run "atitvout detect pal auto active tvout" 4. restart X server 5. I got color TV. 6. :-) By the way, how did you setup the fglrx driver, ie XF86-config: dualhead, clone, ... ??? Have fun ciao mmware |
I've tried dualhead and clone. Clone seems to be messed up no matter what. Dual head works for svideo.
atitvout doesn't work on my system... |
