suspend2 and ATI

I browse the forum for some time, but I haven't find the answer to this question: has someone manage to succesfully use suspend2 function on a system with ATI drivers installed?
I don't. I use Slacware 10.2 and only the last version of ATI drivers worked for me, but when I get suspend2 to run, I realize I have to choose between ATI drivers and suspend2, they don't get along. Can someone provide any help? Or is there a posibility that in the future this problem to be solved?

AFAIK, at the moment suspend2 and proprietary graphics drivers such as fglrx / nVidia don't work together - it's an either / or choice.

And why use them in the first place? They suck! I cannot play not even one single game with the ati drivers.

I got SWSUP2 working with nVidia. All works great except for a one flaw that I consider quite big. When resuming from HIBERNATION only the X window works. Terminals(1-6) are all garbled. ATM have no knowledge on fixing them
