SuSE linux 8.0 and AIC 7899 SCSI


Does anyone have any input regarding the Adaptec AIC 7899 and SuSE linux? I am trying to install SuSE linux 8.0/8.1 and it does not recognize the SCSI controller.
Any ideas?

Intel Server SR1300 box/Intel Server board SE7500WV2

Maybe not, looks like it works on Dell boxes only:

Here's the note that might help you:

"NOTE:The driver module aic7xxx for the onboard Adaptec 7899 SCSI Hostadapter needs the option aic7xxx=stpwlev:0xFC in order to load and operate successfully (recommendation Fujitsu-Siemens Computers, confirmed by SuSE's tests)."
