I've got SuSE 9 and want to set up my monitor on it.
I have a SCEPTRE D50X 15 inch and the companie doesn't provides linux driver.
I was on RedHat 9 and had the same problem. With this distribution, I use the 'Generic svga' driver that comes with it.
Distribution: PCLinuxOS 0.93 and 0.92, Vector sometimes

In Yast, there is a generic Vesa Monitor you can select. My Proview isn't listed, so I choose Vesa and 1024x768 at 85Hz (as my monitor booklet states) and that runs perfectly.
