k3b relies on cdrdao and cdrecord, I believe, so they must copy dvds as well, I suppose.
Still got to buy a dvd writer, though, so might wait before I download the newest versions.

I had a similar problem -- but it worked when I logged in as ROOT -- so I think there's something with permissions (I'm using SUSE 9.0)

Follow the instructions and install in the right order -- with SUSE 9 you can install directly from the download menu . Don't forget the symbolic link to your DVD player.

You have to enable DMA as well or you will get jerky pictures -- use YAST to do this (again SUSE9).

On the whole it works OK -- get the odd glitch when navigating -- I think I need something like DVDNAV -- anybody got any help here.

Dvdnav plugin can be found at http://dvd.sf.net/. It may slow Xine down a bit.

Played a dvd recently (region 2/4) and thought there was a problem as it wouldn't load. Ran Xine in xterm and realised it was getting css keys. Was patient for about 20 minutes and everything worked fine.

Recently tried Ogle. Installed from source and that worked fine straight away.
