Question SUSE 9.2 mixer not working for SBLIVE

Hi

I have installed SUSE 9.2 Pro (AMD 64), but the sound mixer doesnt work, I cannot change volume.

There is some funny audio player and it has a volume control which is working, but it's very disappointing that mixer doesnt.

I have drivers installed and sound card is working apart mixer.

BTW I had mixer working for SBLIVE in even old RedHat 7.0.

please please help me.

thanx
Maris

Have you tried downloading, compiling and installing the ALSA drivers? I have RedHat 9, (which works natively with my SBLive card) but after compiling and installing ALSA I had much better control over all its functions and features. Maybe that is your problem? Get ALSA and see if it works for you. Mine works just fine in Rh9 (rhymes!)

I have downloaded alsa-driver-1.0.5.tar.bz2 and I was following those instructions, but compiler fails:
